Storyboard Text

  • D- Determine the Situation
  • Anyone want a drink?
  • Yeah!
  • Yeah! Come on, Courtney!
  • ummmmm...
  • E- examine options
  • Should I say yes or no?
  • If I say yes, Pros would be that I would look cool around her freinds. But cons would be I would get in a lot of trouble by my parents!
  • C- Consider pros and cons
  • If I say no, some pros would be I would be staying healthy. But some cons would be that I could get bullied or mad fun of!
  • Never drink alcohol underage! Even if your friends want you to!
  • Courtney was invited to Donna's house for a sleepover. Donna stole her parents alcohol and asked everyone if they wanted a drink. Everyone said yea why not, but Courtney doesn't know what to say.
  • I- Identify positive and negative influences
  • Courtney options are to say no to the drink and offer something else, that would be a healthy option. She could also say yes and join in, but that would be an unhealthy option.
  • D- Decide and act
  • I'm good. But do you guys want to go watch a movie?
  • If Courtney choses the healthy option, some pros would be that she is staying healthy and following the law. Cons would be that she could get bullied or made fun for not joining in. If Courtney choses the unhealthy option, pros would be that she would look cool around her friends. But cons would be that she isn't staying healthy and she is breaking the law.
  • E- Evaluate your decision
  • I'm so glad I didn't take the alcohol!
  • While trying to make this decision Courtney thinks about all her positive and negative influences in her life. How her parents say alcohol is bad for her and that she shouldn't drink underage, would be a positive influence. But a negative influence would be that her friends would peer pressure her into doing bad things.
  • Come on Courteny! Try it with us!
  • Courtney's final decision was to deny the offer of alcohol and offer something else to do. She offered to watch a movie.
  • Courtney's decision was a good one, because while being intoxicated she could make bad and risky decisions. And because she could have slurred speech and unsteady movement.
