Storyboard Text

  • I gave a fief to this Lady because I could not afford an army nor manage the land
  • Feudalism
  • I cannot believe I am stuck on this land forever, I did not even agree to this, my great grandfather did
  • Monarchs
  • I receive all the taxes in this land, everyone has already taken their share so I did nothing today.
  • Lords/Ladies
  • The feast is almost ready, the only thing I am missing is the quail. Of course, I have my knights hunting for them now and the serfs can't hunt because it is the food of the rich
  • I can't believe I am finally a knight, I've been training since the age of seven, when I became a page. After seven years of helping out the Ladies of the manor and learning how to ride a horse and even got some religous training, I then became a squire, where I was assigned to my lord knight, Sir Lancelot. I polished his sword, shield, and armor. I finally became a knight at the age of 20 when I got crowned last week.
  • Feudalism was the way of life after the fall Rome. Lords/Ladies were the vassals if Monarchs and were given a fief to control and manage. Knights were the protectors of the land. Serfs, the lowest class, were tied to the land and grew the food.
  • Knights
  • Monarchs were the owners of the land. They gave out fiefs to lords/ladies and sometimes they had to do nothing to control the land, while others had big roles in their land.
  • Serfs
  • Lords and Ladies were the managers of the land, they were given fiefs from a monarch to control and manage. They hired knights to protect the land and provided knights for war. They usually lived in manors, but the rich lived in castles.
  • Knights were the protectors of the land, they fought in war and also did simple tasks such as pick up taxes from the serfs. They went through rigorous that started at the age of 7.
  • Serfs were the lowest class in the social pyramid, as they were peasants tied to a land. Their job was to farm, and make goods.
  • Today will probably be awful, as always. All I do is work, I only grow crops and make goods for the rich mom whole life. I didn’t even agree to this, my great grandfather did.
