Storyboard Text

  • Ya’ll seem very tired. I think Ya’ll need some ATP, NADH, and NAD+. Eat an apple for some glucose.
  • What are ATP, NADH, and NAD+?
  • Why do you need glucose?
  • This all takes place in the Cytoplasm and Mitochondria of the Cell. ATP and ADP both play important roles in providing cellular energy. ATP synthase is an enzyme that creates the energy storage molecule ADP.
  • Our bodies need Glucose through a process named Glycolysis to create Pyruvic Acid . ATP, NADH, and NAD+ are product of Cellular Respiration.
  • What is Pyruvic Acid?
  • Oh, so we need Glucose to make Pyruvic Acid.
  • What’s the Electron Transport Chain?
  • Pyruvic Acid is a Organic Acid we create after Glycolysis for the second step of Cellular Respiration, the Krebs Cycle which leads into the Electron Transport Chain.
  • What is the Krebs Cycle?
  • Is ATP scientifically related to the subject of ADP and ATP Synthase?
  • The Krebs Cycle and Electron Transport Chain are part of Cellular Respiration a process we go through, it uses Oxygen and Foods we eat to get ATP and waste products like Water and Carbon Dioxide
  • Where does this all take place?
  • During cellular respiration, the cell is able to reattach a phosphate onto the ADP molecule, making new ATP.
  • What are the roles of ELectrons and Hydrogen in this?
  • In the third stage of cellular respiration occurs when the energy-rich hydrogen atoms are separated into protons [H+] and energy-rich electrons in the electron transport chain.
  • Oh I didn't know that, i'm going to go eat a apple so I can obtain Energy!
  • Me too. Thanks for the info.
