- We can just win next year
- Will lives in a small town called Forbes, Pennsylvania. He is traveling far from Forbes to go to a big city called Castle Rock. This is their rival team and Will wants to win really badly.
- Hey, my bad for losing us the game. Sorry about that.
- Will fumbled the ball 5 yards away from the endzone. He had caused their team to lose to Castle Rock again for the third year in a row. He is so mad right now that he doesn't even want to talk to his dad.
- You guys ready to win next year?
- Yessir
- He is no longer mad because he realizes he can just beat Castle Rock next year and it was no big deal that they lost this year. WIll shows his character by not giving up and says that he can just try again and again.
- Will lets his friend know that it isn't that important and they can win next year. Will is always trying to make other people happier than he is. This is one of his best characteristics as a person.
- The theme of this book is courage and perseverance. Will shows his character in the story by not giving up and playing down one player the whole season. Will is also a very honest person and did not try to cheat the games even when they were losing.
