Desalination is when salt water gets extracted out of the ocean then is split into 2 parts. Brine and Fresh water. Then the brine is disposed back into the ocean.
Factory's take the salt water and extract as much of the salt that they can.
Then this fresh water can be used for many different things, Drinking water, animals and everyday use.
Because of this increased amount of salt in the ocean it affects the oceans evaporation. Salt is cooling down the water making it hard for it to evaporate.
The low evaporation affects the amount of rainfall because the clouds are not getting the evaporated water. Then this affects the glaciers because the rain isnt falling.
Plants get affected because of this process in a negative way. Even though desalination doesn't directly affect plants it still affects it in the long run. After a long time plants could start dying because of this really salty water.
