  • I would like to buy you land.
  • In 1803 President Thomas Jefferson decided to buy land from France for 15 million dollars. But the land was unexplored. Even the French had never explored the land. 
  • Thank you for your kindness. You know this area better than anyone.
  • That will be 15 million dollars. 
  • I shall send Meriweather Lewis and his chose of men on an expedition through the unexplored land. 
  • So, Jefferson sent Merweather Lewis and William Clark to explore the land. They had a group of about 30 men and a dog.
  • Thank You, sir. I will do well.
  •     We shall follow this trail to the Mississippi River.
  • They followed a long trail to the Mississippi River where they met some Indians.
  • Bark Bark! (Okay!)
  • They met a woman named Sacagawea and her husband. They decided to help Lewis and Clark on their expedition. They went off to along the trail.
  • Me and my husband will help you on your journey.
  • After a few days, it started to snow. So the team made and fort for the winter. After a long winter season, they head off on the trail.
  • we shall stay here for the winter season.
  • After 2 and a half long years of this journey, they finally made it to the Pacific Ocean. They made maps, found different and new plants, and more species of animals. They were ready to head back.
