The Earth's not a pear.
It was 1492, and a local drunk named Christopher Columbus was in the bar, getting hammered. That's him in the black outfit.
Contrary to popular belief, no one really believed that the Earth was flat. That is just, as Kramer would say, "Kookoo talk".
That's right. Most people in the late 1400's believed that the Earth was a pear. Columbus did not.
