Storyboard Text

  • The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees, The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas, The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moon.
  • Where Tim the ostler listened; his face was white and peaked; his eyes were hollows of madness, his hair like mouldy hay.
  • Tlot-tlot; tlot-tlot! Had they heard it? The horse-hoofs ringing clear;  Tlot-tlot, tlot-tlot, in the distance? Were they deaf that they did not hear?
  • This quote was important because it set the scene of the poem.   we also know it takes place at night because he describes the moon.
  • This quote helps describe what Tim the ostler looks like, and he probably looked a little crazy, because of how they explained his eyes.
  • This quote shows the Highwayman returning, to find the redcoats waiting. This is important because Bess the landlord's daughter warns him that the redcoats are there.
