  • In the society the women are the ones who gather.They search for many things such as roots, mushrooms, yams and wild seeds.

  • Aksumites developed a unique architecture. They carved stones that fit together without mortar to construct palaces and public buildings. Stone pillars as tall as 100 feet were erected as monuments or tomb markers. The carvings on the pillars are representations of the architecture of the time.
