Storyboard Text

  • On December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor was attacked.  This triggered the United States to then enter World War II.   This also caused more tension in racism with Japanese Americans in the U.S.
  • Two weeks after the attack on Pearl Harbor President Roosevelt signed the Order of 9066.  This was signed on February 19, 1942.  The order authorized the removal of any or all people from military areas.
  • By June of 1942 more than 110,000 Japanese Americans were relocated to internment camps. These camps were built by the U.S military and were scattered around the county.
