Chapters 1-3 of Brave New World involve the DHC showing some Alpha children around the Hatchery. After showing the children the Hatchery, he then shows them some "games" that the children play.
In Chapters 4-5, Lenina says yes to Bernard's invitation to the Savage Reservation, embarrassing him in front of his peers, somewhat. After talking to Bernard, Lenina goes out with Foster, and Bernard goes to a Solidarity Service, but he's constantly distracted by Morgana's eyebrow.
In Chapters 6-7, Bernard asks the DHC for the permit to go to the Reservation. The Director then talks a bit about his life, and then criticizes Bernard and threatens to send him to Iceland. Then, Bernard and Lenina head to the Reservation, observe a community celebration, and meets John and Linda.
In Chapters 8-9, John tells Bernard about how he grew up hearing about the "Other Place", and Bernard asks John if he'd like to go to London with him. Bernard then calls Mustapha Mond and tells him about John and Linda, so they can leave with them. John fears they left without them, so he breaks into their cabin, where Linda is on her soma holiday.
In chapters 10-11, Bernard arrives back at the Hatchery, where the Director tells him that he's being transferred to Iceland. Then, Bernard presents John and Linda in front of the workers and the Director and out their status as his family. The Director resigns in embarrassment, and John becomes a society hit as "The Savage." His popularity also boosts Bernard's popularity.
In Chapters 12-13, Bernard arranges a big party, telling people that they can meet "The Savage." But John doesn't want to go, and embarrasses Bernard in front of his guests. Bernard sinks back into his sadness.. Lenina finds that she can't stop thinking of John, and visits him to seduce him. However, he wants love, but she doesn't, making John uncomfortable, and causing him to leave.
