  • John Adams was elected by the House of Representatives. Henry Clay chose Adams since he agreed with his beliefs. Jackson received 150,000 votes, where as adams received 108,000. None of the candidates received a majority, so the decision was up to Henry Clay. John Adams was an educated lawyer who has experience with politics.
  • Henry clay served as Secretary of State after choosing Adams for president. Just at the age of 3 he had experience with politics after troops ransacked his house. He often pushed for war when necessary, but also used peace too. Clay also introduced California to becoming a non-slave state.
  • Andrew Jackson was born in poverty. Later on in his life he stepped up and became a wealthy lawyer. Later on the British invaded both South and North Carolina and lost his family in the process. Jackson later becomes hostile to Britain.
