Exposition: The setting of Liberty is in the Dominican Republic. The story takes place in the family's home when the dad comes home. The family consists of the mom, dad, and daughter.
Inciting incident: the family got a new dog. His name was Liberty. In the story, he resembles the author.
Rising action: Two dudes that the author has never seen before come to the house and strangle the dog and left a mark on her arm.
Climax: The guys that abused her got in the house and rewired the electricity so that they could listen to the family's conversations. The daughter then explained to the kids that they had to be careful about what they say.
Falling action: The family got their passports so they could move to Miami. The mom had to make admonitions to the kids, so they could only take one toy when they move.
Resolution: The family is moving out this day! The sad part is that the daughter has to say goodbye to her dog Liberty. The daughter had to kick Liberty out and she was inconsolable.
