Aha, I see him becoming either a great king like you or a religious leader.
I want him to become a king like me.
Yay, I am going to go an see the town!
What is happening to all these people? Why are they not happy?
There once was a prince named Siddhartha Gautama (563 B.C).His father was the king of what now is Nepal. After Siddhartha was born they went to see a fortune teller they said when Siddhartha grows up he would become a king or religious leader.
Now you are here with us you will have not a lot of food, not a lot of bathing, and not a lot of sleeping.
Ok, I think I can survive with these terms.
Throughout Siddhartha's young life he was protected by everything that happens in life. His Father (the King) even had gards clear the streets from homeless, sick, and poor to keep hid son (Siddhartha) from seeing true sadness.
One day Siddhartha snuck out without gards and saw four sights his father tired to protect him from. He saw a old man leaning on a stick, a shrinking by disease man, a man who had died and the mans family crying and finally he saw a homeless man. All these sights made Siddhartha think about how his life has turned out.
Oh My, what will my family say about me being a religious leader? Ok I can do this. I get to see my family.
Once Siddhartha saw those sights he searched for the truth. He went to the woods and found Gurus who taught him about the cycle of birth, death, rebirth, but this cycle did not satisfy Siddhartha so he left. Then he found Ascetics they taught him self-denyal, but he did not like what self denyal did to him and left.
After Siddhartha left the Ascetics Siddhartha went under a fig tree and meditated for 49 days. While he was meditating he was visited by Mara the god of desire and death. She tempted him with wealth and attacked him with showers of rock. He finally woke up after all those days and found the truth he was looking for the whole time.
After Siddhartha found the truth he was looking for he went to the palace and told his family all about what he had learned in the time that he left. Then he took a tour around the world and spread what he learned with the woods with all people who wanted to know what he learned.
