Lady Macbeth and Macbeth decide to kill the king, Duncan. They act saddened and shocked when they hear the news the next morning. Macbeth is appointed king.
Out, damned spot! Out, I say!
Macbeth decided he must kill his friend Banquo as well, since his children were prohphesized to become kings after. Later, he is haunted by Banquo's ghost at a dinner.
Macbeth gets messages some apparitions, in which time Macduff flees to England. Macbeth is willing to do anything to gain power and remain king at this point.
Lady Macbeth is observed as she sleepwalks, a manifestation of her guilt. She later kills herself, to which Macbeth pays little regard. Malcolm and his troops approach Macbeth, who is then slain by Macduff.
