"Rainsford had fought through the bushes for 2 hours." "I must keep my nerve, I must keep my nerve"
"His foot touched the protruding bough that was the trigger. Evan as he touched it, the general sensed his danger and leaped back with the agility of an ape. But was not quick enough the dead tree hit him."
" Your burmese tiger pit has claimed one of my best best dogs."
Still a little scared
He was fighting through the bushes to try to get away and hide from rainsford so he doesnt get killed and he wants to keep his nerves so he can try harder.
Nerves get to him
When Rainsford made the trap it worked and the tree hit him which sent Zaroff back to get it checked out and gave Rainsford time to run and hide again.
His tiger pit has Zaroff loosing one of his dogs so now he is down a dog so now Rainsford is still scared but not as much because in the morning a sound of hounds wake him up and he gets scared now.
He hid in the sapling tree untill he heard the hounds and he took his hunting knife and pointed it down by the trail and he got a hold of the sapling tree and ran for his life after that.
" He slid down the tree. He caught hold of a springy young sapling and to it he fastened his hunting knife, with the blade pointing down at the trail. He tied back to the sapling, and ran for his life."
"I found it quicker than walking through the jungle"
When he jumped in the water to get away Zaroff thought he was dead so Zaroff thought he won. He comes home to Rainsford sitting on his bed. Rainsford swam to the cabin and beat Zaroff there. Rainsord sat in his bed and Zaroff said that Rainsford finally won.
