If police training doesn't improve then the citizens will become their own force and there will be more deaths.
According to PBS police who have done better training have decreased the amount of times they fire their weapon. These police officers have learned better ways to detain the criminal.
In 2017, New Mexico has the largest amount of poverty and income inequality. This causes more people to turn to crime.
According to Pew Research Center 27% of officers say they have fired there weapon while on the job. White, male, veterans were more likely to fire there weapon compared to minority female officers in small communities. Officers who have fired their weapon are more likely to protect gun rights.
In order to have less deaths of innocents police need better training to learn how to deescalate a situation without using firearms. Also, everyone should have to take hunters ed to learn how dangerous firearms are.
