Inspired again by the thought of glory, the war-king threw his whole strength behind a sword-stroke and connected with the skull.
When the Geats arrived they were greeted by the Danes who were concerned who these people were and what they wanted. Beowulf then talked to them explaining the situation and what needed to be done and that they were ok people to let on their land.
"Have the brave Geats build me a tomb, When the funeral flames have burned me, and build it Here, at the water's edge, high On this spit of land, so sailors can see This tower, and remember my name, and call it Beowulf's tower, and boats in the darkness And mist, crossing the sea, will know it."
After Beowulf had won the battle with Grendel he leaped into the lake where he sat by himself. Later Grendel's mother found him and tried to dig her finger nails into Beowulf but luckily he had on chain mail so he wasn't hurt by her.
Beowulf is taking on the dragon by himself as all the other Geats had ran away when it came time to fight. He used his sword to fight him off and he was successful as he hit him in the head.
Beowulf is telling Wiglaf about what he wants done with him after he dies. He is brave and courageous by putting his life on the line for everyone else. He now wants them to build a tomb on the him looking over the water so sailors from far and wide will be able to see him.
