  • Exposition
  • An old man and a mad man lived as neighbors. The mad man which is the narrator says that he is not crazy.
  • Conflict
  • The mad man is crazy about the old-man's eye, which he describes as a vulture, pale-blue eye and he wants to kill the old-man because of his eye. 
  • Rising Action
  • He visits the old-man's house for seven times in the week, specifically in the midnight to kill him, but he couldn't.
  • Climax
  • In the eighth midnight, the mad man kills the old-man by pushing a heavy bed towards him, and after that he cuts the body and pieces and he puts them under the floor.
  • Falling Action
  • The officers came to visit the house of the old-man, because the neighbors complained some screams. They found nothing so they go and the body stays in there.
  • Resolution
  • When the officers went out, the mad man accepts the guilt because he couldn't handle the pressure of the heart beat of the old-man, since the mad man was crazy.
