Storyboard Description
In philadelphia, yellow fever was a big problem in 1793. From the book, I picked the scene were Mattie has to find food for her and grandfather. She finds this perfect stream to catch a fish. Before this happened the people on the road thought Grandfather was sick and the man with the wagon dumped them on the side of the road. They didn’t have anywhere to go. It was miles back to town they had to find somewhere to rest for the remainder of the day and night. In this scene Grandfather is sick and Mattie goes off to find water or food. She finds a river to get water and food. She gets in the water and tries to get a fish. King George swoops down to get a bug and hits Mattie in the face. She misses the fish. Mattie finds some berries and brings them back to grandfather. The importance of this scene is Mattie needs to work hard to feed both herself and Grandfather so they can stay alive.
