- I don't have anything nice to wear.
- I got invitation to the affluent party.#160;
- I look fabulous!!!
- Mathilde was very pretty woman but was poor. All she desired was to be rich and wealthy. She married a clerk who wasn't wealthy either so they didn't live in a great place.
- I LOST THE NECKLACE!
- It must be in the cab...
- One day her husband came home with an invitation to the affluent party, but Mathilde wasn't happy about it because she didn't have anything to wear to the fancy party.
- I'm so miserable
- Her rich friend, Madame Forestier, lent her jewelry and her husband gave her money so she could buy a nice dress to go to the party. When she arrived at the party everyone was looking at her. She was finally being noticed.#160;
- It was fake...
- When she scurries out the party at the end, her husband and he go n a search to find a cab to take them home. When they arrive home Mathilde realizes the necklace went missing. They figure out it was left in the cab but they don't remember the number for it. They needed to find a replacement even if it costed a lot of money. She gave the replacement back to Madame Forestier.
- After making shady deals and borrowing money Mathilde and her husband worked really hard to earn all the money they had lost for the necklace replacement. All of the hard work paid off after 10 years after they finished paying off the debt.
- One Sunday she saw MAdame Forestier walking around Champs Elysees, and said hi to her. Her friend didn't even recognize her. But when she introduced herself Madame Forestier noted how much she has changed. Madame Loisel then works up the courage to talk to her friend about what happened and finds out the necklace was a fake after everything that she's done.#160;
