  • Hey, I just got an email... from a Nigerian prince? He wants to send me money! Hey, that's SO cool!
  • Dude, are you crazy?! This is obviously a socially engineering Trojan!
  • A socially engineering WHAT?! What even is that?
  • A socially engineering Trojan is a way for hackers to steal information from susceptible victims. By playing into the potential victim's emotions, these criminals can obtain personal information such as credit card information.
  • Wow, what can I do to prevent him from stealing my information? Obviously I shouldn't send any emails back, but is there a way for me to prevent any more emails from contacting me?
  • It can be very obvious because the grammar or capitalization will be wrong or look off.
  • THIS IS THE NIGERIAN PRINCE. I WOULD LIKE TO SEND YOU 5 MILLION DOLLARS, BUT FIRST YOU MUST SEND US YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND $1000 JUST TO CLARIFY YOUR IDENTITY.
  • At the end of the day, just block the email. Make sure to NEVER distribute personal information unless it is with a trusted source, and read the terms and conditions before doing so. As long as you follow these very simple and easy tips, there is no reason to be fooled by a socially engineering Trojan.
