Storyboard Text

  • We have to win this war. We have to preserve our way of life.
  • We cannot allow this to continue!
  • At the time of the Civil War and in years before, the Southern economy was agricultural and dependent on slaves.
  • Because of this way of life, the South and its army suffered greatly.
  • Significant changes have happened in our country after important events, such as the Civil War, and later in history, the Great Depression.
  • The Union Victory, in one way or another, both helped and harmed our country.
  • The naval blockade that was put on the South by the North also affected the South's economy.
