Hi, I am B cell. Alphabet B in my name was named after bone marrow, where I was created and mature from. I am activated by helper T cell. I produce both plasma cell and memory cell in the body. The plasma cell produce and secrete antibodies. These antibodies eventually bond with antigen and eliminates pathogens. The memory cell remember the properties of the antigen. So, the primary immune response takes about 5 to 7 days to produce antibodies, whereas the secondary immune response takes a short time to produce antibodies, produces a large amount of antibodies, and is maintained for a relatively long time.
