Storyboard Text

  • Did you hear about the 6 kids with measles? I hear they're in the infirmary.
  • That's crazy. Do you know how they got the virus?
  • I heard one of the girls was overseas during vacation and didn't get the proper vaccine. She got sick and then spread it to everyone.
  • Yea, the 4 girls live in the same dorm as me. They had a fever for 3 straight days, and they were itching for hours!
  • MY FEVER IS AT 104! AM I GONNA DIE? I thought kids only got measles.
  • I heard that measles are caused by bacteria in the throat. Inflammation occurs and causes itching.
  • I'M ITCHY EVERYWHERE. MY SKIN IS ON FIRE AND IS RED!
  • I CAN FEEL MY LEUKOCYTES SHRINKING! WHERE ARE ALL OF MY MACROPHAGES!
  • YOU'RE ALL SICK. YOU HAVE MEASLES!
  • WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!
  • My face is on fire. It's spreading to the rest of my body. My throat feels like sandpaper.....
  • The antigen becomes depressed, reducing the production of antibodies. This slows the rate of production of Helper and Killer T Cells.
  • Measles:- viral infectious disease- causes fever and red rash- common among children- spread through coughing/sneezing
  • Inflammation is caused by the irritation of the skin due to a virus, or bronchitis, which irritates the throat. Measles is caused by the rubeola virus, which goes into the nasal cavity of a person and lingers there, thus irritating skin around it and the nasal passageway, including the throat and other systems used for respiration.  Conjunctivitis, or swelling/redness of the eyes, is caused by bacteria making contact with the eyes.
  • The cel mediated response is when the Helper T tells initiate Killer T Cells that infect and kill potent cells. They eradicate the infected cells. Vaccines do this by introducing a benign version of the virus to the body and allow the body to build specialized immunity.
  • The Humoral Response:The Cell Mediated Response:
  • Humoral response in measles is when a child gets the vaccine for measles and the body creates antigens against measles and recognizes it next time and eliminates the virus from the system.
