Oh, c'mon! you know you're not supposed to do that!
Kiddos! I think it's time I told you about India's Literature.
Hey dad... um... sure, why not?.
Where should I begin? Ahhh, I know just the right spot. We'll begin simple. Sanskrit was the main language of the Aryans.
The two most commonly known Sanskrit literature was the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. Also, a famous poet named Kalidasa was hired by Chandra Gupta II to write plays for the royal court!
The Ramayana is about a prince named Rama. He was actually an incarnation of Vishnu. He turned human to rid the world of demons and save Sita. The Mahabharata is about the struggle between two families for control over a kingdom.
I hope you kiddos enjoyed today's lesson because you guys are having another one tomorrow. You'll like tomorrow's lesson Jamie... and I think you might too Ariana.
