  •  Mexican revolutionary, champion of agrarianism, who fought in guerrilla actions during and after the Mexican Revolution 
  • 1910
  •  Zapata, seeing an opportunity to promote land reform in Mexico, made quiet alliances with Madero, whom he perceived to be the best chance for genuine change in the country Although he was wary about Madero.
  • 1911

  • 1915
  • The armed forces of Zapata assembled in Morelos, date not known.
  • In 1910 he formed and commanded the liberation army of the south an important revolutionary brigade. The United  States Mexico northern neighbors was significantly affected the human dislocation that the resulted.

  • Thus, haciendas were suffocating villages. Many people didn't have any other choice than becominl who permanently labor moved onto a hacienda. 
  • In 1917 Carranza’s generals defeated Villa and isolated Zapata. Carranza then called together a constitutional convention but did not invite Zapata; the convention approved and passed a constitution and elected Carranza as president of the republic.
  •  Zapata was unable to win on the battlefield, but was never totally defeated. He was assassinated in 1919. Although his larger vision for the future of Mexico did not prevail, his fight for land reform helped shape modern Mexico.
