  • Rome was located on a peninsula. Meaning, it was surrounded on 3 sides by water. It also was very mountainous in Rome, and hard to travel, so they used ships, and traveled in the water.
  • Influence of Etruscan Sports
  • The myth of Romulus and Remus was a story to make up how the name of Rome, got its name. It went like this: Once upon a time, lived a king. He loved being king and bossing people around. But one day Twin boys were born, and the king didn't like that. He ordered the babies to be thrown into the river, to die. Once they were in the river, starting to drown in the little basket they were put in, they started crying, and they cried so loud a wolf heard them, took pity on them and rescued them. the Twins, named Romulus and Remus, grew up as wolves, played as wolves, and did everything with the wolves. They were wolves.  One day they were playing out side together as small kids, a farmer or something, saw them playing, so the farmer kinda kidnapped them, but saved them kinda at the same time. Word got around and everyone said that Romulus and Remus were princes and could be the next king! but one of them couldn't, so when the king died, Romulus and Remus fought in a battle to death. Romulus won and named the kingdom after himself. Aka Rome.
  • Influence of Greek Architecture
  • The Romans adapted the coniculus from the Etruscans and used it to irrigate land. they also used them to drain swamps and carry water to their cities The Romans used arches to build huge public works including brides stadiums and aqueducts to carry water over long distance. 
  • Influence of Greek Art, Religion, and Writing
  • Romans adapted two bloody Etruscan sporting events. The first was slave fighting. Etruscan spectators also enjoyed watching chariot races. In Roman stadiums, thousands of slaves died fighting as gladiators. The winner was executed.  WHY DO THE WINNERS DIE. THEY SHOULD GET A REWARD
  • The Romans used Greek design like columns in their own public buildings. in time, they learned to use concrete to make even larger such as the PANTHEON, they copied the building style of the theater and the Greek home's shapes
  • Used a modifies Etruscan alphabet.which was adaption of the Greek alphabet. THE GREEK LETTERS WERE WROTE IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. the Greek carved important documented in walls for all to see.  NEXT... Romans copied the Greek art technique for making pottery. wealthy Romans collected Greek art and built monuments in the Greek style. Romans sculptures and painters used there Greek art as a model, but their figures were more realistic. NEXT... Roman religion was influences by the reek religion.The Romans made Greek gods as their own, but gave them different names.
