  • Summary- SWBS & Aha! Huh?
  • The opposing forces in that battle both wanted to win but the Germans outnumbered them "10 to 1" so as you can guess, they forced them to retreat
  •  Restate and answer RED anchor question. This person was quoted to show how the British weren't upset the lost, they were just impressed by the Germans. It adds an element of personal experience to the writing from Albert George.
  • Question
  • As the French, Belgian, and British forces came head on with the Germans, Albert George recalled looking across the valley, with the enemy three miles away. ""The order 'Action' came down," he remembered, "and everybody went to their different duties. . . ." Even though they were vastly outnumbered by the enemy, George remained naively confident and was still "very pleased to have a go at the Germans"" (18-19).
  • Start with -ing or -ed word, Participial Phrase Undaunted by the outnumbering, the French, Belgian and Britians did not back down from the fight.
