  • Hi Jeremy! Do you know how plants make food? And what are the steps on how plants make food?
  • Hi Justin! Plants make food through the process of photosynthesis. Plants need sunlight, chlorophyll, carbon dioxide, and water.
  • The first step of photosynthesis is when water and minerals are absorbed by the roots of the plant. The roots are under the soil .
  • Wow thats cool.
  • The next step is when water and minerals goes up through the stem and distributed to the leaves.
  • Fascinating
  • At the back of the leaves are small openings called stomata. This is where carbon dioxide enters the plant.
  • I learned a new word, stomata!
  • Yay! Now I know how plants make food.
  • When chlorophyll, carbon dioxide, and water are combined, it is called raw sap. But when sunligt is present, this is called elaborted sap. Elaborated sap spreads to the other parts of the plant. Then the process repeats over and over.
  • Besides plants producing oxygen, plants also produce glucose. Glucose is also known as sugar.
  • Thats Amazing! Thank you for explaining. Now I understand what takes place dutring photosynthesis
  • The first step of photosynthesis is when water hits the roots of the plant
