Parvana lived in Afghanistan, Kabul. She had an older sister named Nooria who was 16, a older brother named Hammid who is 14, a younger brother named Ali who is 2 and a younger sister named Maryam who is 5. But Hammid died from a landmine. She had two parents and lived in an apartment building. They were staying inside for most of the time because the Taliban Invaded Kabul.
The antagonist are Nooria, Ali, Mrs. Weera, Shauzia, Parvana's mother and father. The protagonist is Parvana. Parvana is a young girl and she has to dress up as a boy, go to the market place, get food and does her fathers job to get money. Parvana and Shauzia go around the marketplace and sell bones.
Parvana has to keep moving to different houses because their houses keep getting exploded by bombs. Each house they go to gets smaller and smaller. One day they were hanging out in their house when suddenly a bunch of Taliban's busted in and took Parvana's dad. He then got taken to a prison 37 miles away.
Parvana was being chased by a Taliban at the marketplace. she was trying to get away but the Taliban was still chasing her. She looked behind her. She ran into Mrs. Weera. Mrs. Weera took her to a safe place.
Parvana and Shauzia were trying to sell bones to people who went to the soccer game. Parvana was said why isn't anyone cheering. Some Taliban and prisoners game out on the soccer field with a table. They stretched out a prisoners arm and cut his hands off. they did this with every prisoner. Shauzia screamed but Parvana covered her mouth. The Taliban said "This is what we do to prisoners." Shauzia and Parvana went home.
Shazia went to France and Parvana and her family stayed in Kabul. This leaves the audience satisfied because Shazia can finally be safe, but it ends with a cliff hanger. The audience wants to know what happens to Parvana and her family.
