- I don't know about this.... It contradicts everything from the past 1000 years. Eureka! I knew it! The heart is in a state of ceaseless motion. I can't wait to share all my new ideas about blood circulation !
- The Story of William Harvey's greatest discovery starts in the lab when he was experimenting on an animal. You see he was one of the leading scientists at the time having graduated from universities all across Europe.
- But the "quack physicians" (meaning no real knowledge or skill in medicine but still practice it.) rejected his ideas using Galen's outdated bloodletting methods.
- I still believe in bloodletting! Who is he to judge the way of our circulatory system?
- Nobody listen to him!
- Yeah! Galen's ideas are better!
- Listen everyone! I have a ground-breaking discovery!
- But 400 years later is findings have changed the way we think about blood circulation!
- Today you will learn the important findings of William Harvey... things that are still apply today!
- "there is no to-and-fro movement of blood in the veins, but a constant flow of blood to the heart."
