It was sometime in early 2013 when Elon Musk began designing a space mission to mars. Since he needed brave volunteers, he decided to invite Forest Gump, a war hero he remembered seeing on a historical documentary on vietnam.
After coming over with his son and talking for some time, Elon suddenly brings up Space X and his goals. However he has a problem, as rockets are very expensive as they can only be used once. Forest's son hears this and suddenly gets an idea.
Forest's son brings up the with the simple solution of just re-landing the rockets after use, to be used over and over again, thus reducing costs by a huge margin.
After their visit and discussions about volunteering for the mission to mars, musk went to his office to think about what Forest's son said....
And in the early winter of 2015, after 2 years, Space X finally had a successful landing using the solution provided by Forest's son, in a VTOL type rocket landing test, thus further cementing the possibility of colonizing mars in the distant future
