Down town Cincinnati ohio, April 9-13/2001.
A police shot and killed an unarmed African American named Timothy Thomas, possibly as a racial act.
People started peacefully protesting regarding the bad police response to the police shooting.
Tensions were already high in the city because there had been previous incidents of police brutality and racial profiling.
The peaceful protests eventually broke out into 4 nights of restless riots.
People vandalized and destroyed the city. The riots finally ended when the city imposed a curfew, and calmed the protesters.
