Storyboard Text

  • Henry, come help me put up this sail.
  • Okay Father.
  • We have to get to Great Britain!
  • Not much is known about Henry Hudson's childhood but from what historians can infer, Hudson had a very good education. He was born in 1565. Some researchers believe that his father worked for a very big trading company and that Hudson was a cabin boy.
  • That Way!
  • Since Hudson helped his father on ships when they went to trade with other countries, he learned all the basic neccesseities of how to be a good voyager. He learned how to cook, handle sails, care for a ship, and keep a ships log. He was also able to learn how to navigate through the sea. There is no exact date, but it was said that he married a woman named Katherin and they had three sons. His three sons were Oliver, John, and Richard.
  • I need ships for the next voyage I am going on.
  • Alright but in return you will give me what I need.
  • On one of the first voyages Henry went on he borught his son who helped him on the trip.
  • We've accomplished what we came to do. We have found new water routes to North America! We shall return back home now.
  • The Muscovy Company commissioned Hudson to find the far east.
  • Hudson then went to dutch to find the northwest passage.
  • In the end, Hudson discovered various water routes in North America. Many of the places he explored are now named after him. Hudson left a mark on many places and stood as a great explorer to find new land.
