First, the water starts out as a liquid, it then evaporates and enters the atmosphere, after enough collects, it rains and the water cycle starts again.

Co2, like the gas off of cars is easily measurable because it evenly distributes through the atmosphere.
Co2 is extremely hard to trace because it groups together in the atmosphere.
