  • In Rwanda, there are two groups. The Hutu's and the Tutsi's. About 85% of Rwandan's were Hutu's. One day, a group of Tutsi's formed a rebel group. on Apirl 6, 1994 a plane was shot down with the president of Burundi and Rwanda in the plane. After that, the Hutu's took over. They wanted to kill every Tutsi alive. That is how the genocide started. After 100 days, 800,000 people were killed in the genocide.
  • Apartheid means separatness. It was a racial segregation system in South Africa. People were divided into 4 groups. White, Black, Indian, and Colored. Everyone was separated and went to different places. Anyone who was not white had not politcal rights. Then, Nelson Mandela was South Africa's first democratically elected president. He changes lots of things.
  • Some people think that Africa is just grasslands and animals, but it is so much more than that. Cote d' Ivoire is a busy city with traffic and tall buildings. There is even a seaport with ships coming in. The biggest religion in this city is musllim. Africa has its differences, but some of it is also aging with the modern day.
