  • King Laius and queen Jocasta had a son named Oedipus. One day a man tells the king and queen that, one day Oedipus will kill his father and marry his mother. So the king then stabs the baby's feet with nails and sends someone to throw him into a lake and kill him. 
  • Climax
  • The man couldn't kill the baby, so he just left him there on the floor. That same day another man who worked for the king and queen of Corinth, took the baby to them. The kind and queen couldn't have a child of their own, so they adopted Oedipus. Many years passed and Oedipus was hearing rumors of him being adopted, but he didn't believe it. 
  •                                      Falling Action
  • Oedipus goes to an oracle, and is then told that he is to kill his father and marry his mother. Oedipus was then frightened and left Corinth to protect his parents and heads to Thebes. 
  • Resolution 
  • On his way to Thebes unknowingly, Oedipus killed the king (his father) Thebes. A man soon made him king. Oedipus married the queen (his mother) and had four kids. There was plague going on, so Oedipus went to see the blind man and the then the man told him that he killed the king. Later on he tells Jocasta about it. She finds out that he married her son, so she hung herself. And when Oedipus finds out, he stabbed his eyes out. 
  • Oedipus then vanished himself from Thebes. 
  • Oedipus walked around as a poor, blind man.
