Storyboard Text

  • These people in the back are all supporters of Jackson but none of them have a background in politics.
  • "YAY!"
  • "You're all Hired!!!"
  • "You're all fired!!!"
  • "NOOOO, but why????"
  • The Indian Removal Act of 1830, made the Native Americans move to Oklahoma, which they did not want to do. This also created the trail of Tears where a quarter of the Natives died on the hard journey to their new territory. The effect/impact of these two events is causing Native Americans to only be in modern-day Oklahoma, as opposed to the entire country. Another effect is that a large portion of the Indians died on the trail of tears.
  • States-
  • "Wait! We can just nullify it!!!!!"
  • When Andrew Jackson was president he appointed his cabinet members not by experience and qualification but instead by if they were friends with him and if they supported him. The effects of this are the cabinet not being very effective at their jobs due to their lack of experience.
  • When Jackson was elected, he fired most of the previous government employees and hired less qualified politicians such as his friends and supporters. The effect of the Spoils System is a lot of new government employees in which some were not as good at their jobs as their predecessors.
  • "I represent the common-people."
  • When the Federal Government passed laws, sometimes the states did not like those laws, and felt they could "nullify" it.  The effects of this are states thinking they could do this and essentially override the Federal Government which is "unconstitutional."
  • "We don't like that law!"
  • "We're not going to follow it"
  • When Andrew Jackson was president he decides that the bank was unconstitutional and then decided to take all the money out of the bank and put it in smaller banks. The effect of this is the end of the National Bank.
  • "I think the national bank is un-constitutional."
  • Andrew Jackson's campaign was based on that he was representing the "common folk."   This is why he appealed to so many voters.  The effect of this was him getting elected and then to later give voting rights to all white males, not just the ones that own land.
