Fear and Suspicion are Destructive Forces
" A man breaks away from the crowd to chase Charlie. The man tackles him and lands on top of him."
Inference: Everyone mad at Charlie for pulling the trigger for no reason.
Gasps and whispering
"Man Two. Go ahead Charlie tell us. Charlie. It's...it's the kid. It's Tommy."
Sally (Tommy's mom)
All these types of evidence show the theme "Fear and Suspicion are Destructive Forces" because it shows how everyone was scare that they didn't know what to do and the only options they had in mind was to protect themselves and the people around them from danger. For example in the first box it showed how fear led to a death since the crowd of people were thinking that Pete Van Horn was the monster. In the second box everyone was scare that charlie might kill another person, so people wanted to defend themselves and the ones they care about. Furthermore in the third box the whole crowd of people believed Charlie that Tommy was the monster, since in the beginning he knew what was going to happen. This shows how people have the idea that it’s most likely true that he is the monster. In conclusion, these are some evidence to support the theme.
