  • Exposition
  • What is that?
  • DON! The portable wont work!
  • Did you see that?
  •       Conflict
  • They don't want you to leave.
  • Whoever was in that thing that came by overhead.
  • Who?
  • Rising Action
  • I don't understand it. I tried to start it and it wouldn't start. You all saw me.
  • He always was an odball.
  •  A mysterious object flies past with a loud boom. Then all the power goes out on Maple Street. Everyone is out on the street looking for what made the sound and why the power is out.  
  • Rising Action
  • Pete Van Horn!  He was just...
  • Steve wants to go figure out why the power went out, but Tommy tells him not to go because "they" don't want anyone to leave. Tommy reads lots of comics and he's sure this is the beginning of an alien invasion.
  • Climax
  • It's tommy. He's the one!
  • Meanwhile, Less Goodman's car suddenly turns on all by itself even though it wouldn't start when he tried to get it running. Everyone is immediately suspicious that Less might be some sort of strange alien invader after listening to Tommy's explanations.
  • Resolution
  • Understand the procedure now...?
  • Tensions continue to escalate and accusations are flying when Charlie shoots Pete Van Horn in the chest. Everyone is shocked, but Charlie protests that he was sure Pete was actually an alien. Besides, the way Pete just appeared out of the dark was scary, and Pete shouldn't have left the neighborhood anyway.
  • But...but  I didn't know who he was.
  • It's Pete Van Horn!
  • Things keep getting stanger with lights going on and off in houses all around Maple Street. Everyone is afraid and accusing each of of being aliens in disguise.
  • It's Charlie who killed old man Van horn.
  • That's crazy!
  • Are you all gone crazy? STOP!
  • Meanwhile, on a hill overlooking Maple Street, the actual aliens are watching the chaos unfold. Observing the predictable pattern of panic and accusations as neighbors turn on one another in their fear.
  • And this pattern is always the same?
  • It's Charlie who killed old man Van horn.
  • Are you all gone crazy? STOP!
