  • Your son will be either be a king or religious leader.
  • I do!
  • Do you take this man as your husband and do you take this woman as your wife.
  • PLEASE HELP US!
  • I never knew there was so much pain and suffering in the world.
  • Buddha was born prince named Siddhartha in 563 B.C. and lived in Nepal. To add on, a fortune teller said that he was either going to be a king or a religious leader. Of course his father wanted him to be a king.
  • LIfe is an endless cycle of Birth, Death, and Rebirth.
  • I do  not know the truth about suffering.
  • You must do "The Path of Self-Denial."
  • He was born living a life of luxury without pain and sadness. Siddhartha married at  16 and had a son. It seemed as if the prince could have anything.
  • I am now enlightened and understand the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.
  • Siddhartha rode out on a chariot of his home and saw the 4 passing sights. One of the sights was a man leaning on a stick. The next sight was an old shrunken man because of a disease. Then a man who died and his family was in pain and sadness. And last a wandering, homeless man.
  • I will teach you how to end the cycle of Birth, death, and rebirth.
  • After finding out about life, pain, suffering , and death he goes on a search for truth. Siddhartha started living off food that people left him. Also he joined a group of religious ascetics and started doing "The Path of Self-Denial."
  • One day Siddhartha decided to meditate under a fig tree. Later this tree would be known as the Bodhi tree. Then he told himself he will not leave that  spot until he realized the truth, After 49 days of deep meditation, he saw his past lives and understood the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. Finally he reached the Great Enlightenment.
  • Siddhartha who was now Buddha which means the enlightened one had been freed from the cycle of suffering. He then came back to our world and realized his ultimate purpose which was to awaken the world which means they will be able to also escape the cycle of suffering. He ended up teaching for 45 years teaching it to a lot of people and even some people how to teach it. Unfortunately, he died at age 80.
