  • It so much better here in America! Me, an immigrant can have a job in the North!
  • I´m so sad. I had to be taken from Africa to America, and have to work as a slave, which is someone who has to work for no money. I have to work all day in the South.
  • Meet Frederick Douglass, who is only one of the many abolitionists.
  • I am Frederick Douglass, an escaped slave and an abolitionist, which is a person who uses speeches and other forms of encouragement to stop slavery.
  • I am William Lloyd Garrison, an abolitionist and the publisher of The Liberator. I believe that slavery is so unjust, that it should be stopped immediatly.

  • So many laws, acts and compromises have been made! There's the Missouri Compromise, the Fugitive SLave Law of 1850, the Compromise of 1850, the Kansas-Nebraska Act, and the Dred Scott Decision. There's also the Confederate States of America, which is some of the states that seceded from the U.S.
