  • I want war! 
  • Britain is helping FN's fight Western settlers, we need to put an end to this!
  • You must serve in the British Navy unless you can prove American citizen ship.
  • In America at a government building, politicians discuss the issues they have with Britain.
  • Sir, I am sure that we are outnumbered by the British, we should retreat back to Fort Detroit. We've been waiting so long. 
  • I don't want my men hurt. Let us retreat.
  • Meanwhile on an British Navy ship..........
  • The U.S was angry about impressment so the decided not to trade with ALL foreign countries. This was the very unpopular "Embargo Act" of 1807, which backfired. Cargos at American ports rotted and spoiled.

  • The first battle was fought in 1812..........well sort of. The American troops were under General William Hull.
  • Before the burning of the White House many other battles were fought, but neither side gained much of an advantage until this act. 
  • On Christmas Eve, 1814 the Treaty of Ghent was signed by both the U.S and Britain, officially ending the war.
