Atum is usually seen as a cat or an eel. Sometimes, he is seen as a gorilla with a giant bow to fight off his enemy's with.
Atum created himself using his sheer thoughts and force. He merged with his shadow to create his son, Shu, and his daughter, Tufnut.
Atum came to existence by thinking himself up and the force of his will. He made a hill where he could stand. He was neither male or female. He then vomited and made his son and daughter. His daughter was named Nut, and his son was named Shu.
Shu and Tufnut got lost in the dark waters of Nu. Atum sent his all-seeing eye to search for them. When they returned, he wept tears of joy and these tears were the first humans. These humans jobs were to nurture the earth and worship the gods.
