Storyboard Text

  • This creole is just like the others. He doesn't actually want to help us; he just wants power!
  • I agree. He's wasting our time. Let's go.
  • As all of Hidalgo's followers deserted him, he decided to flee north toward the border.
  • However, it wasn't long until the Spanish captured Hidalgo and executed him on charges of treason on July 30, 1811.
  • Elsewhere, in the coastal lowlands of Mexico...
  • My name is José María Morelos. Yes, what happened to Hidalgo is a tragedy; however, we cannot give up. We can use more deceptive tactics against the Spanish and tire them out. We have to be patient.
  • Though Morelos quickly proved his military genius, with major victories in all of his campaigns. he couldn't control the circumstances in the mother country that would soon doom him.
  • Isn't this guy the greatest? Who else would understand us better than another mestizo?
  • I know! His guerrilla warfare tactics are really working too.
  • Send soldiers to stop this madness immediately.
  • Soon, Morelos would face the same fate as his predecessor, Hidalgo.
  • Well, now that this Napoleon business is done with, it's finally time to end all these silly rebellions in our colonies.
  • Yes, Your Majesty.
