  • Walk on water - When Jesus was man, he had preached that he could cure the blinded. When a man who was blind had begged of Jesus to cure him. Jesus had fulfilled his promised he preached and the man was able to see.
  • Mythological Allusion
  • In modern day, people had thought that the boxer would never win the lightweight championship, but with his hard work...he walked on water. 
  • Example
  • The allusion walk on water means to do the impossible. The first example, shows when Jesus had cured a man who was blind and made him able to see again; people hadn't thought that he could achieve that. The second example, shows a boxer who was to win the championship when other people thought he couldn't, but he did. 
  • Explanation
  •  Hot as Hades- When Perseus was fighting this beastly creature, he was Hot as Hades due to his amazing fighting skills. 
  • When the little boy is sick, his mother had found that he a temperature of 101. He had commented that he was hot as hades.
  • The allusion hot as hades means that someone is extremely hot. It can be taken many different ways. These two examples show what the allusion means. In the first example, Perseus was fighting the monster so good that his skills were Hot as Hades. The second example, the mother said that the boy was Hot as Hades due to his high fever.
