  • Americans defeated the Indians at the Battle of Fallen Timbers on August 20, 1794. They won. The Battle is important to nation’s history because it made a national policy of using military force to control rebellious Indian tribes.
  • Main Idea #3
  • I am now sending and army to defend the Americans!
  • The Articles of Confederation passed the land ordinance law of 1785 for organizing all the territory in  the Ohio Valley and the Great Lakes region .
  • Main Idea #4
  • Pontiacs rebellion led to the Proclamation of 1763 to not fight with the indians for twenty years, the proclamation seemed to work because the number of indian and american attacks died off and stayed minimal. 
  • Affects
  • President Washington sent a military force over the land to defend the Americans from the frequent Indian attacks.
  • The Battle of Fallen Timbers has began. August 20, 1794.
  • The Native Americans were ultimately forced to sign the Treaty of Greenville which ceded, or gave up, their lands in present day Ohio and Indiana to the US.
