The Frent and Indian War started off with tenstion between the indian groups and Britain. British and Virginia investors got a royal grant to settle in the Ohio River, passed the Appalachian mountaints. The Indians said this was the last straw because they did not want English settlers to be pushed out again.
The French authorities also wanted to stop the English from coming in. They wanted to protect their Canadian fishing grounds and also protect their fur trade routes.
Benjamin Franklin was a histrical figure in the war. He proposed The Albany Plan on Union. This was the idea of untiting british colonies together.
Two other historical figures in the war were Daniel Boone and George Washington. When the war commenced killing more than half of the English army. Boone along with other men retreated.
In November of 1763 colonial authorities signed a treaty that had to do with the Creek and Cherokee. It stated that Indian leaders agreed to give up land in exchange to be left alone on the remaining land. This is known as the Treaty of Agusta.
In Febuary of 1763, British Spain and French representatives signed a treaty known as the treaty of Paris. After the 9 years of war the English had gotten full control of Florida and all the land east of the Mississippi River.
