  • Introduction
  •  The quartering act ordered colonial assemblies to provide british soldiers with housing. The colonists were to provide the soldiers with bedding, candles, cooking utensils, vinegar, salt, and more.
  • Quartering Act 1765
  • Boston Massacre 1770
  • Dont fire!!!
  • During the Boston Massacre, British soldiers fired into an angry mob of citizens,and five colonists were killed.
  • Stamp Act 1765
  • we have no say in making any laws!
  • The Stamp Act required many colonists to buy a stamp for any and every piece of paper they used.This was just higher taxes for the colonists which was a problem.
  • We will make you pay the taxes for the stamps on each piece of paper you use.
  • We don't want to pay the taxes just for stamps!
  • 1st Continental Congress 1774
  • Many colonists worked together in small groups to protect their rights. They complained to the British about them.
  • We want to protect our rights!
  • Many of these conflicts led to many wars between different people,and the conflicts only made things worse for citizens.
